A friend rented an S recently and said the stock suspension was soft and prone to bottoming, even on fairly mild off-road trails. The S screen is terrible by most accounts, worse than the R screen. S & R seats interchange, and it's easy to put a low fender on the R. #2.

If you have budget try the 2021 1290 and 890 models, but the 790 might do the trick. It will have decent comfort, range and handling.
